about

Paul had this awesome piano riff that he didn't know what to do with so I had to him record it into my voice memos on my iPhone. I then spent the next week or two walking around with the riff writing a melody and verses for it. Brought it back to him with my ideas and then we wrote the chorus right then and there and cut a demo of it. It is our first co-write and the only co-write on this record. Love the horns Corwyn added to it!

Lyrics:
intro
If I could back to where we were
I could show you how my mind works
But it’s much too late and I’m fading now
And I’m going to bed without you around
Giving it time could mean it’s over
You’re no longer mine for your reasons
Watch me cry
How did we get this far off track
You’re on your own now I want you back
It seems as if it comes in waves
The need for space and a job that pays
Giving it time could mean it’s over
You’ve got a rhyme to your reasons
Watch me cry
breakdown / outro
